Using the practice of Artist Lizzie Rowe as my inspiration I have concentrated on drawing a collection of handbags - some real some imagined, on A4 paper using a various technques and media.
I have used either left handed or blind drawing to obtain the outline of the bag and have then added the detail and shading.
The most success techniques have been indian ink, drawing with sewing machine but no thread and then rubbing over with graphite, embossing a pattern with a sharp tool then rubbing over with a pencil. This experimentation has led me to come up with the following ideas to move my work on:-
Introduce random element into choice of scale. ground and media- Wire drawings
- More sewing machine
- Photoshop
- Take more risks!!
